Medieval castle

This medieval castle was made for a video tutorial aimed at beginning to intermediate 3ds max users, all the work involved in creating this piece are included in the tutorial.
Modeling, uvmapping, texturing, shading, lighting, animation and rendering (using mental ray).
You can check out the tutorial on enjoycg.com, i hope you enjoy this render, i had a lot of fun making this one!

Although it's obviously not as detailed as i wanted it to be, I was limited by the fact that this is a video tutorial, so i couldn't go on forever, i'm still pretty satisfied with the end result.

Candle, ink & paper

This image was modeled and rendered in 3ds max using mental ray, the textures were made using photoshop (displacement, specular level, etc) For the candle i used an mental ray SSS shader to simulate the cande light seen through the wax.

The candle flame was taken from a photo and edited in photoshop to match the scene, The quil feather is a simple plane with a texture and opacity map applied.

If your interested in how this mas made exaclty check out the video tutorial i made on www.enjoycg.com > 3ds max tutorials, comments and critique welcome!
